1275K Generative Realtime Art Installation is a permanent realtime generative graphics installation by Studio A N F, delivered in 2022 at the 1275K building in Washington DC. The work consists of five realtime artworks including Scape, Third Nature, Emergence and Hypertecture, displayed on a large high-resolution LED lobby screen and complemented by LED lighting strips. It is built in TouchDesigner and includes an interactive piece, Emergence, that responds to visitors in the lobby via a ZED stereoscopic camera.

The installation is part of Studio A N F's Realtime Environments practice: a generative system that runs continuously on the building's lobby display, producing visuals that never repeat.

Overview of the Installation

The installation comprises five realtime artworks displayed on a large, high-resolution LED screen, accompanied by LED lighting strips. The artworks include:

Scape renders mountainous landscapes that are constantly regenerated, presenting new terrain as the system evolves.

Third Nature is a virtual forest garden of digitally rendered plants that sway gently, simulating a natural setting within the lobby's digital context.

Emergence transforms the movement of people in the lobby into a dynamic visual display. A ZED stereoscopic camera detects the presence of individuals, portraying them as digital brushes that emit multicolored particles, creating an interactive and abstract visual field.

Hypertecture is an ongoing digital construction of virtual architecture, featuring stylized animated abstract sculptures within a constantly changing virtual environment.
